Weapon Training Waiver Level 4 (Prevot)

As part of the NCDP-based certification process, knowledge and experience as an athlete is required to be demonstrated for each weapon you are seeking certification in. This knowledge can be demonstrated either by documented training or by meeting the requirements for a waiver.

This course allow you to submit documentation for the Prevot (Level 4) Certification. If you are looking to submit documentation for Assistant Moniteur, Moniteur, or Maitre, please back out and navigate to that course.

If you are choosing the documented training option, it may consist of either group lessons or private instruction (or combination) completed under the supervision of a USFCA-member coach in good standing of at least Prevot level or above in the weapon. Training completed under a non-USFCA coach may be accepted on a case by case basis.

The documented training or activity for the waiver should take place PRIOR to attendance at USFCA Clinics or registering for a Mentorship program (exceptions may be made in extenuating / outstanding circumstances).

The requirements are:

Level 2 (Assistant Moniteur)	20 hours	10 hours	• Competed in at least 3 sanctioned USA Fencing tournaments or equivalent from a foreign country in the weapon OR * Have competed on an NCAA team or equivalent in the weapon OR • Have competed on a high school team or equivalent in the weapon
Level 3 (Moniteur)	20 hours	10 hours	• Competed in at least 3 sanctioned USA Fencing tournaments or equivalent from a foreign country in the weapon OR * Have competed on an NCAA team or equivalent in the weapon OR • Have competed on a high school team or equivalent in the weapon
Level 4 (Prevot)	64 hours	32 hours	• Have been a USA Fencing (or foreign NGB) competitive member for 6 years AND ONE of the below: Have had a “C” ranking in the weapon ORJunior national points list ORSenior national points list ORTop 4 placement at Veteran NAC (age group or combined) OR NCAA Regionals Qualifier
Level 5 (Maitre)	64 hours	32 hours	• Have been a USA Fencing (or foreign NGB) competitive member for 8 years AND ONE of the below:Have had a “B” ranking in the weapon ORTop 32 Junior national points list ORSenior national points ORVeteran National Team ORNCAA Regionals Qualifier
