Weapons: Sabre
Description:
Alfred Hutton was one of the key figures in the rebirth of amateur fencing in England during the Victorian sports revival of the late 1800s. As a former cavalry officer, he was also a strong advocate for the sabre as a military weapon. This clinic provides an overview of Hutton’s dismounted sabre system as an important part of the history of sabre fencing and as a window into classical period teaching methods and the complexity of classical technique. This is a Zoom clinic taught in 12 online sessions.
